Rainy skies could not dampen the spirits of the large crowd of friends and supporters attending the Warren Heritage Foundation’s 9th Annual Gala on September 30th. The theme of this year’s event was “Harvest Moon Gala: Celebrating Historic Touisset Point”, and the setting, appropriately enough, was the charming Touisset Point Community Club. An exhibit of historic photographs was on display to provide an understanding of the long and colorful heritage of Touisset.
Celebrants enjoyed appetizers by Prica Farina, hearty hors d’oeuvres by Celebrity Chef Eli Dunn, fresh Rhode Island oysters and little necks served from Luther Blount’s South American cayuga dugout canoe, a tasty selection of desserts, and of course a variety of libations. While enjoying the music of the incredible Paper Moon Jazz Band, attendees supported the work of the WHF by bidding generously on a wide variety of local treasures available in the silent auction.
In addition to being an enjoyable evening for all participants, the gala was a resounding financial success, raising $21,000 for the Foundation’s Grants program. Thanks to all attendees and sponsors for supporting our mission to protect and preserve Warren’s unique history.
